Why is a family owned business so special? There are many reasons. Now, don’t get me wrong, I enjoy the convenience of running into the big box stores or using a big company for online purchases just as much as everyone else. There is a lot to be said about these big companies when it comes to time and convenience. I would argue, though, that there is more to be said about small businesses. For example, we have been using a small family owned business to order our company t-shirts, jackets, hats, sweatshirts, etc for many years. Today, the owner Angela, stopped by with some homemade banana pudding and to offer her condolences for a recently lost family member of ours. Angela and her business have heart. We are more than just a paying customer to her. Another example is a family owned and operated feed mill in our small town. We purchase our goat feed and supplies from them. The owner, his sons, and grandchildren are there working, loading bags of feed into your truck, and thanking you for your business. They have long time employees there who know what you need before you ask. They remember who you are because you mean something to them and the business. You always leave there with a smile. Small businesses truly appreciate you. They are willing to go out of there way to help you. They think beyond “the box” and can come up with new and different ideas in how to help you. Also, they truly know

their business. They have a specialty and passion for what they do. Here at K.E. Warehousing & Trucking you will find the words “Faith-Family-Focus” outside of our building, on our paperwork and elsewhere. So next time you are looking for a good meal, quality product, or good service don’t forget to consider the “little guy”. Chances are, they will bring a smile to your face.
